KETOROLAC (Acular®, Acular® PF, or Acular LS) eye solution is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ketorolac eye solution helps relieve eye pain, inflammation, and light sensitivity after eye surgery. It may also be used to decrease eye inflammation or redness caused by seasonal allergies. Generic ketorolac eye solution is not yet available.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions: bleeding problems contact lenses diabetes mellitus dry eye syndrome, other eye problems, or recent eye surgery an unusual or allergic reaction to ketorolac, aspirin, other salicylates, other NSAIDs, foods, dyes or preservatives pregnant or trying to get pregnant breast-feeding
How should I use this medicine?

Ketorolac eye solution is only for use in the eye. Do not take by mouth. Remove contact lenses before solution application. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash hands before and after use. Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down with your index finger to form a pouch. Try not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye, fingertips, or any other surface. Squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close the eye gently to spread the drops. Your vision may blur for a few minutes. Use your doses at regular intervals. Do not use your medicine more often than directed. Do not use any other eye products without telling your prescriber or health care professional.
What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

agents that treat or prevent blood clots such as warfarin or other 'blood thinners' agents that affect platelets
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible: bleeding in the white part of your eye signs of an allergic reaction - difficulty breathing, wheezing, skin rash, redness, blistering or peeling skin, hives, itching, swelling of eyelids, throat, or lips sores in the eye or eye irritation that gets worse
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): blurred vision burning or stinging after instilling the drops dry eyes
What should I watch for while taking ketorolac?

Let your prescriber or health care professional know if your eye symptoms do not improve after 2 to 3 days. Do not use for longer than prescribed by your doctor.
Unless your prescriber or health care professional gives you other instructions, you should not wear contact lenses while you are using ketorolac eye drops.

Keep out of the reach of children.
Store Acular® and Acular® PF at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Protect from light. Store Acular LS at room temperature between 15 and 25 degrees C (59 and 77 degrees F). Throw away any unused eye solution one month after opening.
